Collage paintings of Virginia Beach

These paintings are created by first covering the canvas or wood with scrapbook paper and then using acrylic paint to create the images. In some cases, parts of the images are created with the cutout papers. In some cases, a burnt umber wash is applied to give the paintings more of an aged appearance. All paintings are then finished with a layer of clear satin or semi-gloss poly-crylic to prevent the papers from pealing. Most are intended to be hung unframed but frames can be added.
